Our AIMS

Giving our Baby Angels a Voice

The aims of 'Doing it for GEORGE’ are primary to raise awareness of SIDS, (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). We are hoping to do this by working together with and improve the bereavement services initially across the Fylde coast. The emphasis will be on bereavement support for parents after losing their child suddenly and traumatically.

How we intend to do this.

We are aiming to work with local hospitals, emergency services, and government agencies to improve on the initial bereavement support for parents and siblings. We want to ensure that the Accident and Emergency Department that support the Fylde coast has suitable bereavement suites for bereaved relatives and provide a ‘next step’ program by giving bereavement boxes at the A&E departments, bringing together the support network to allow parents to greave without the worries of what to do next.

We want to provide self-help groups for fathers that will run along side both existing support groups and the professional counselling service for bereaved parent. We also want a place to work with local authorities to proved for a safe haven, a place to call our own to celebrate the lives of our baby angels.
